PROMOTION: Freddy Peralta called-up to MLB, will start Sunday
Milwaukee Brewers young pitching phenom Freddy Peralta has been called-up to the majors to replace Chase Anderson, who is dealing with an illness, in the rotation. Peralta, still only 21, has been excellent for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in AAA this season, going 5-1 in 7 starts with a 3.63 ERA. His strikeout stuff (11.9 K/9 in AAA this year), relying on a plus slider and fringy changeup, should play well in the MLB. However, this feels like a spot start at this point, instead of a long-term call-up.
