The Kingsport Mets scores 13 runs on 13 hits on their way to a 13-6 victory over the Greeneville Reds thanks to big bats from Sebastian Espino, Jaylen Palmer, Andres Regnault, and Gregory Guerrero.
Espino went 1-3 with two RBI, Palmer went 2-4 with a homer and two RBI while Regnault went 3-5 with two homers and four RBI. Guerrero, the nephew of Vlad Guerrero and cousin of Vlad Jr., also hit a homer on a 2-4 night.
Kingsport’s pitching tallied for a total of 17 strikeouts on the evening.
Cesar Loaiza went 4.2 innings striking out eight and allowing three runs. Brendan Hardy tossed 2.2 innings while striking out six. Hector Rodriguez and Reyson Santos made appearances out of the bullpen combining three strikeouts on the night.
Greeneville scored runs in the second, third, fifth, sixth, and eighth innings.
Greeneville’s center fielder Allan Cerda went 2-2 with two RBI, but was replaced for pinch-hitter Peterson Plaz.
On Friday, the Greeneville Reds will travel to Bristol face the Pirates while the K-Mets stay home to face the Elizabethton Twins. Both games are scheduled to start at 6:30 pm.
